Harry’s son, Robert W. Stoddard, served as a trustee of WPI from 1941 to 1974 and received an honorary degree in 1952. In addition to the Harry G. Stoddard Professorship of Management, the Stoddard Residence Center on the WPI campus, now the Stoddard Complex, is named in Harry G. Stoddard’s honor.
Jackson, who holds a master’s degree in manufacturing and management from WPI before joining the faculty, has held C-suite and other leadership roles in technology companies and led the growth of large and small nonprofit organizations. Ordained as a member of the clergy, she received a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership from Newton Theological School in Andover, and Lifelong learning in 2017 Yale Divinity School.
Jackson has spent 20 years in software engineering since earning her bachelor’s degree in information systems and operations management at Indiana University Bloomington. Her industry background includes serving as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer at Smart Energy. She holds directorships at Avicon Group, Sherpa Corporation and Acusoft Corporation.
Jackson, who served on the WPI Board of Trustees for many years, wrote two books on effective leadership: Spiritual Practices for Effective Leadership: 7 Rs Sacred Space for Pastors (2015), which won the Light Book Silver Medal Award; And Intended for Good: Fundamentals of Women’s Leadership (2019)
