Whitley Nabintu Marshall of Portland returned to Manhattan to represent New England and compete for the title of Miss International at New York Fashion Week in Times Square. Wheatley previously competed last year, taking home as 1st runner-up for the international Ms. USA title as well as being awarded a special award for leadership. This year, she returned home as the winner of the Director’s Leadership Award.

Whitley Nabintu Marshall is an award-winning artist, activist and entrepreneur who seeks to connect communities through art and cultural exchange, fostering a uniquely inclusive culture that leads conversation and encourages compassionate action, making a global impact. She was recently recognized as one of NYC Magazine’s Top 30 Female Leaders to Watch in 2022, and was named Model Society Magazine’s Top 22 Models of 2022 and Supermodels Unlimited Magazine’s VIP Model. Wheatley has led a number of social and environmental initiatives, including the Compassionate Leadership Project, and founded several organizations, including the Green Initiative and the World Roots Cultural Exchange. She is the owner and editor of Artlovelifestyle magazine, a certified personal trainer at Anytime Fitness, the co-director of Barefoot Truth Dance Company and a member of the Egumani cy’Intore Rwanda Cultural Group.
