Mervyn Jabaraj, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research, highlights the latest economic data and financial news affecting local, state and national businesses.
The Sam M. Walton College of Business Center for Business and Economic Studies at the U of A, in partnership with the Northwest Arkansas Council, will release the Northwest Arkansas Region Annual State Report at a public presentation on Oct. 27 at the Hilton Gardens in Fayetteville.
It was first published in In 2011, the report measured the local economy in comparison to peer regions such as Madison, Wisconsin. Raleigh, North Carolina; Provo-Orem, Utah; Des Moines, Iowa; and Austin, Texas.
Along with updates from the Northwest Arkansas Council, Center Director Mervyn Jabaraj will discuss new economic data for the state of Arkansas and Northwest Arkansas; current monetary policy of the Federal Reserve; Inflation: The lasting effects of the epidemic; Russian invasion of Ukraine; The potential future impact of the inflation-reducing legislation recently passed by Congress.
The event will begin at 11:45 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fayetteville. Registration and networking will begin at 11:00 a.m. and attendees will meet with other Northwest Arkansas community leaders before the 11:45 a.m. program, which will last 75 minutes, including time for questions and answers.
The cost of the luncheon is $50. Pre-registration is required by Friday, October 21st.
