Fashion has been an inseparable part of the human body for the past 170,000 years since the first man decided to cover his body parts. Currently, the fashion industry has thousands of companies that actively push what we can wear and how to decorate special clothes.

Technology and fashion go hand in hand, but we’re not talking about making different synthetic materials here. Instead, projects like Fashion League have allowed the fashion industry to address ongoing issues while experiencing an explosion at the same time.

One of the main concerns of the fashion industry before the internet was the acquisition of brands. People around the world only had a limited selection of clothing items in their local shops and malls, which is often not enough, especially in small towns.

The internet has changed the way we shop for clothes by introducing various ecommerce platforms. Because of this, consumers don’t need to go to malls and shops to find the perfect outfit. Many of them have access to foreign fashion and can order clothes from any part of the world. Fashion brands have launched generic online stores with varying degrees of success. Currently, one of the most popular online stores is Shein, which has a well-developed website, with popular fashion items.

However, this created a completely new problem: trying on clothes. Essentially, how it currently works is to order something and then return it to the store you bought it from, which could be thousands of miles away, provided they have such a return policy. Fortunately, technology is here to save the day.

Fashion in a decentralized world

Another way to improve the fashion industry is to make people interact with fashion more effectively and conveniently. Projects like LUKSO are improving supply chain transparency in the industry, making the entire process transparent to the end user. With all stages visible and on the blockchain, it would be possible to see, for example, if the goods were damaged during transit and at what stage.

Fashion League is another project that has taken a bold step to improve the fashion industry. Brands can creatively showcase their products by allowing in-game fashion for avatars. As a result, users can use their characters to try different clothes, and brands will have the opportunity to sell their products and follow in-depth analysis. It’s an entertainment-first platform, meaning it’s primarily aimed at people looking for entertainment, but it still provides a gateway to untrodden territory.

Final Thoughts: Fashion is here to stay

No, technology is not changing the way we look at fashion. Clothing will always be a part of who we are, and we continue to strive to quench our thirst for beauty through the clothes we wear. However, technology helps us to jump many steps that disrupt the fashion industry from the beginning. It’s something that has been troubling mankind for centuries: Which clothes are best for us? With new projects like Fashion League, we open a new set for this question.
