Following several major health care organizations that are expanding inward Advanced home carePhiladelphia-based Sena Health will help deliver Salem acute care at New Jersey-based Salem Medical Center to patients at home.
Hospital-at-home startups have the capacity to provide up to 23 hospital-level services for conditions that typically require a hospital stay, as well as care coordinators available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
According to the announcement, the program combines professional care and advanced technology to provide patient care at home.
The first patient cared for through the program was seen in July.
Dr. Wamiq Sultan, CMO of Salem Medical Center said, “We used to treat a patient with congestive heart failure in the comfort of her home. If not, she would have been admitted to the hospital.”
Patients must be seen and evaluated in the emergency department to be enrolled. If you meet certain criteria to be safely cared for at home, you will receive two in-person nursing visits per day. You can meet with a specific clinical team just like you would in a hospital.
“If we put patients first, then the setting is irrelevant,” Dr. John Fraunfelter, chief medical officer at Jevion, told Telcare IT News in December.
