If you’re an avid follower of the zodiac, you’re well aware of just how astrological this year has been—seriously, when not at all Mercury retrograde? While the 2022 moons and retrogrades may help explain why you’re itching to quit your job, they also help us understand our desire to embrace such Y2K chaos.
According to fashion stylist and self-proclaimed “charm witch” Gabriela Rosales, known professionally as The Stylist Witch, your birth chart can influence your cosmic beauty and allow you to find your highest self-esteem. For example, from the end of October, Mars will move into Gemini until January 2023. “Mars is the planet of action, direction, leadership,” Rosales said. “The aspects of our identity that we are developing behind closed doors are about to be highlighted by society.” While the mood in fashion right now is big and bold, Rosales also says, “We’re past compromising comfort for the sake of aesthetics.” Therefore, the main theme of all signs of autumn fashion is to experiment with edgy, exaggerated and exaggerated images.
If you’re new to understanding the zodiac, Rosales suggests learning your sun and signs to help you understand your style preferences—the latter if you don’t agree with your sun sign. “[Rising sign] It’s about who you are, how you feel about yourself. That’s how people experience you and embrace your energy,” says Rosales.
Falling zodiac signs are known for their playful and wanton sexuality (see: Scorpio). Fall fashion is similar, says Rosales, with “rich color schemes and textures like velvet and suede.”
Artist and astrologer Larry Easley, known as Luhrayy on Instagram, echoes Rosales’ big and better take on fall. “All 12 signs are associated with body parts,” he added, which also influences the trends you can try. For example, Gemini rules the hands, and Geminis love fancy gloves and fancy rings. Aries rules the head and can play with fun and fancy hats.

Capricorn
Experiment with plaid
Capricorn likes to be elegant and refined. This sign likes a timeless, structured look, and exudes dignity while still exercising some sexiness, Easley says. Fortunately, the favorite muted colors – brown, black and gray – are very scary this season.
Aquarius
Play around with “ugly” sweaters
Aquarius signs aren’t afraid to do things their own way and are more likely to experiment with funky textures and prints, Easley says. Classic Aquarian colors, like shades of blue, don’t resonate particularly well with fall, but Aquarians find a way to make the shade work for fall.
Pisces
Make waves in the ruffles
According to Rosales, water signs like to experiment with romantic textures and images. This fall, that could mean oversized shirts and puffy sleeves—anything that brings out your inner Pisces. Like Aquarius, Pisces’s colors are blue, especially with shades of green.
Aries
Go bold with bucket hats
As mentioned above, this fire sign dominates the head, making oversized bucket hats the perfect statement for fall. Aries are confident and unapologetic, so go bold or go home. Traditional Aries colors are red, orange and yellow. For fall, experiment with burnt oranges and deep reds.
Taurus
Walk in Clogs
Earth signs enjoy playing with shapes and materials. Taurus likes comfort and quality, Easley says, so a chunky platform suit meets Taurus’ fashion requirements. Taurus colors typically include pastel shades of pink, purple, and blue.
Gemini
Give a description of the ring
“Gemini rules hands and arms. [and can] Use them in an animated and interactive way,” says Rosales. “We’re moving from sweet and minimal jewelry to bold and unusual materials like jelly and gum.” The Y2K jumbo resin ring has been everywhere, including on celebrities like Doja Cat and Kylie Jenner.
Cancer
Throw it back into baggy jeans.
Cancer is represented by the crab and is literally and figuratively outgoing and soft. Cancers love to take care of themselves, and this is reflected in their beauty. Think comfortable textures without sacrificing style. Instead of skinny jeans, lean into ’90s mom jeans or baggy pants.
Leo
Get high with platform shoes
“Leos are extra,” Easley says, and platform shoes allow them to make a big entrance wherever they go. Platform heels, loafers, sneakers. Basically any shoe with a platform is the move. Leo’s default palette is full of warm colors, which translates seamlessly into fall.
Virgo
Add a trench coat
Rosales calls Virgo a “detail-oriented sign,” which can often be associated with qualities such as practicality, prudence, and modesty. But they’re also “all about classic styles,” she says, “and there’s nothing more timeless than a trench coat.” Zendaya’s style is a perfect example of this. This earth sign likes neutrals like green, brown, mustard and burnt orange.
Libra
Replace it with matching sets.
As a sign represented by the scales, Libras love the balance of the matching set, and see the balance of female and male figures. Libra’s power color is blue, but you can rock soft pink, lavender, and other pastels.
Scorpio
What’s sexier than skin?
Scorpios are known for being sensitive and low-key intimidating. Fall is a fantastic time for the sign stylistically, in part because the Scorpio season overlaps with dramatic seasons. Autumn colors like burgundy and olive green are going to be the choice as well as leather, which will be very trendy for this deep sign.
Sagittarius
Rodeo on denim on denim
Sagittarians love adventure, which is often reflected in their personal style. “[Fire signs] They’re flexible and naturally bold,” says Rosales, so a controversial fashion trend like the Canadian tuxedo is perfect. Britney and Justin’s denim throwback is no big deal for these risk-takers.
