It’s not just a date where a stranger will link arms with Heidi Klum, cozy up to Anna Wintour, or make eye contact with Kendall Jenner. But that’s exactly what Oculus visitors did after they happened upon those celebrity fashionistas and Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio earlier this month.

Madame Tussauds, in partnership with Westfield World Trade Center, unveiled the wax figures ahead of New York Fashion Week. Wintour performed at the 2019 Met Gala. Jenner’s look was inspired by her look at the 2019 ESPYS; And Klum’s outfit came from the 15th season of Project Runway. Welcoming them with arms outstretched, Ambrosia, dressed in a bright red asymmetrical hooded dress, addressed the passers-by.

But it wasn’t the couture that caught the attention of Oculus visitors, but the opportunity for a moment and photo with these high-profile fashionistas. As close, at least, as they’ll ever come.
