Models took to the catwalk for the 10th Central European Fashion Week in Budapest.

This year’s festival was a tribute to the art and culture of war-torn Ukraine, as it couldn’t hold its own fashion week.

Designers are using the platform to show the horrors of the nearly seven-month-old attack.

The shirts bear the names of the towns where the residents died. Flowers emerging from body armor represent soldiers killed in the conflict.

Fashion from Hungarian and Polish designers is also on display. Their designs reflect traditional Ukrainian culture as a symbol of unity.

“This season, Budapest Fashion Week is in talks with Ukrainian Fashion Week. Ukrainian brands can present their new collections here to an international audience. This is very important because Ukrainian Fashion Week was supposed to celebrate its 25th anniversary this September, but the war was interrupted. These plans,” says the Vogue Ukraine website. -Page editor-in-chief Violeta Fedorova.

According to experts, the Ukrainian fashion industry was stopped for two months when Russia invaded and only started again in April.

Despite the constant threat, many feel that the war is part of their daily lives and that it creates relief.
