PARIS (AP) — An undisclosed group of VIP guests attended the Chanel show on the final day of Paris Fashion Week. Kristen Stewart and Diane Kruger were among those arriving at the Grand Palais Ephemery for one of the biggest events of the day, with some eyes waiting for Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton later in the show.
Here are some highlights from the Spring-Summer 2023 collections:
CHANEL
For spring, Parisian starlet designer Virginie Virde presented a generally simple 1980s collection in black and white that seemed to have nothing to prove.
There were some minor joys.

A-line minis led the eye to a teasing flash—as did the flag’s white-lattice thigh-high socks. Model Irina Shayk was seen in a off-the-shoulder, cap-sleeve marble gown.
Like a polka dot leather dress with a strong split peplum, they presented the historical musings of the century house founded in 1910, from the turn-of-the-century styles.
But after his death in 2019, it was very subtly presented by the French designer, who took over from the happy Karl Lagerfeld. The pulse of this display was light. The black-and-white images of the decor, including the empty historic gardens and the centuries-old images, may not have helped the mood – but the 71-look collection felt at times lacking in energy.
Still, the accessories provided a welcome wake-up call. Embellished clutches, dangling pearl and jewel pendants and gold necklaces in black and white understated 80s trends.
