Doral, Fla. – A car dealership owner faces felony charges after police accused him of threatening to set a Doral insurance business on fire and shoot employees in a fit of rage over $202.40.
According to the arrest report, employees of the Insurance Exchange, located in an office park on Northwest 17th Street, called police Wednesday to report that Fausto Guante, 61, was at Alma Car Sales on Northwest 79th Street in Northwest Miami-Dade. , called the reported line the day before and told the employee that he would “complete the business and burn down the building.”
A Doral police detective wrote in his report that “after[he said]he was going to burn down the building, he[said]he would shoot two or three people.”
Police said they got Gwante’s phone number and went to the dealer on Thursday.
When the detective asked Gwante why he was there, Gwante replied “it was an insurance matter,” he wrote.

Guante had nothing more to say after the detective took him to police headquarters for further questioning, the report said. Gaunte requested his right to an attorney.
Police took him to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Gaunte is charged with making written or electronic threats to kill, cause bodily harm, or commit a mass shooting or act of terrorism – a second-degree felony.
