The partnership with Epic will improve Emory Healthcare’s ability to seamlessly share patient records and care information across Emory locations and organizations, providing better self-service options for patients.

“What we’re most excited about in this transition to a fully integrated, unified clinical and billing system is the benefits for our patients, care team members and clinicians,” said Dan Peterson, interim CEO and current president and COO of Emory Healthcare. “We believe that having all of these entities on one integrated platform will bring significant value. Consistent with our care transformation model, patients remain at the center of all our decisions.”

Epic EHR replaces the health system’s many standalone software systems, as well as legacy acute and ambulatory care billing systems. Moving to an integrated system will accelerate scheduling, registration and pre-approval improvements across the organization. Patients will have access to the MyChart patient portal where they can electronically log in for appointments, request refills, message their providers, access self-scheduling and more.
