Flu shots are available for free Monday, Wednesday and Thursday by same-day appointment all season at the LFCHD Public Health Clinic, 650 Newtown Pike. Please call 859-288-2483 to schedule an appointment; Walk-ins at the Public Health Clinic are not accepted.

“The annual flu shot is the best way to fight the flu each fall and winter,” said LFCHD spokesman Kevin Hall. “The flu vaccine remains important this year as we continue to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. Reducing the burden on our health care system during the COVID-19 pandemic will help reduce the overall impact on the population of the respiratory system.

In addition to helping you avoid getting the flu, the flu vaccine can reduce the severity of the illness and reduce the risk of flu-related hospitalizations if you do get the flu.

The seasonal flu vaccine is recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older, and is especially important for people who are at high risk of getting the flu: infants and children, pregnant women, people with any medical conditions, and adults 50 and older.
