“There’s nothing I’m more excited about than seeing circular fashion in action and donating it from my closet and shop to my longtime friend, Tanya Young Williams, in my beloved second-hand shop in Manhattan,” says Strack. “

A phrase coined by Swedish sustainability consultant Ann Brismar for the first time in 2014 is ‘circular fashion’. According to the Brismar company website, the practice is concerned with “from design and manufacture to the entire product life cycle. Production, transportation, storage, marketing and sales as well as the consumer phase and end of life of the product.

Stracke kicks off the month-long sale on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the West 66th Street store. Sale ends Sunday, January 15, 2023 or before all items are sold. Shoppers can expect to find pieces from designers like Dior, Valentino, Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana, and Alice & Olivia. There will also be items from Stracke’s personal collection, “Sutton Cashmere.”

Strake, a prominent philanthropist who serves as a National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI) ambassador, chose NAMI as the beneficiary of the sale. “I’m so happy to see the proceeds go to this important and life-changing organization,” she said.

CPR owner Tanya Young Williams is excited about the upcoming sale and collaboration. “Sutton and I both understand the importance of keeping clothes out of landfills,” WSR said. “We also know that it’s not just ‘fast fashion’ that needs to be spread. High-end labels can also be enjoyed by many fashionistas.

Charitable donations are at the heart of Central Park Resale, she added. Forty percent of the store’s thrift department sales go to nonprofits; 100% of the proceeds from Thursday’s Bin are also donated.

Williams said the “Sutton Closet” held by the CPR was the most high-profile since it opened in October 2021. The boutique owner notes that this is a rare opportunity for her and her customers, even as business continues to grow. “This event encourages sustainable shopping and will be a real treat for shoppers who love Sutton and her fabulous fashion.”

So, come check out a sample of the “Real Housewives” closet. “Who wouldn’t want to own something from Sutton’s Closet?” Williams says happily. She is the fashion mistress of all fashionistas!
