“Mythic” is not a word you want to hear when it comes to landing your next job. But that’s what the U.S. immigration process feels like to most tech workers, they say Mandy FeuerbacherEVP of Sales and Consular Affairs at Argo Visa.
“It’s almost a myth in the minds of international citizens to get an approved visa for life. No one knows how these officers make these decisions,” Feuerbacher explained to Hippopotamus.
The truth is that neither American companies nor workers really understand the complex nature of the process. Immigration is handled by the Department of State and Homeland Security, USCIS.(United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) Feuerbacher explained. US immigration attorneys are often not that familiar with the overseas consular side of the process.
3.7 million visa applications are denied each year after an interview. Currently, 1 in 5 visa applicants experience problems with their H-1B visa interview and 1 in 6 have problems with their L-1 visa. This can wreak havoc on companies looking to bring in the best talent.
Argo Visa, a company based in Greenville, South Carolina, opened to help organizations and employees navigate the complex US visa application interview process. This includes navigating any cultural and language barriers associated with the process and dealing with paperwork.
Behind Argo is a group of former diplomats, immigration lawyers and visa officers. Chris Richardson He founded the company after spending many years in the foreign service. He told Hypothamus that. He was “shocked” by the complicated visa process.
“I felt there was a need to have a company that really responded to customers and the millions of people who want to travel, visit or study in America,” he added.
So far in 2022, Argo has assisted in over 2,000 visa cases and has amassed a 99.5% approval rate.
Alongside a team of experts, the platform has Argobot on its website as a tool to instantly assess the status of a visa request.
Initiation and visa process
Visa holders are a vital part of the US workforce in companies of all sizes. But the number of visas issued is small even though the job openings are high American technology industry.
“The world is a small place now. There is a lot of good foreign talent that US employers are trying to find. Normally foreigners had very little power. Now corporations have to fight for the best foreign talent,” added Feuerbacher.
Emerging startups also compete for top international talent.
“A lot of entrepreneurs want to hire foreign nationals or asylum seekers, and they think that because they’re an entrepreneur, they can handle the process themselves. But the immigration system is not one that you can do yourself,” Richardson added. We feel that the entrepreneurial spirit is less responsive to those who want to offer it.
Richardson said large corporations have the resources to sponsor visa applicants. But improving the visa process for entrepreneurs is key to Argo’s overall mission, Richardson added.
580 out of 100,000 Immigrants to the U.S. are self-employed, a rate far greater than that of the U.S.-born.
“Immigrants are overrepresented as entrepreneurs and startup founders and in many parts of American society. Argo firmly believes that if the immigration system can provide transparency, it works. Because our success is America’s success. That’s what built America. . . . Immigrants come to our country and successfully build our country.” It is because she is able to sustain and reinvent herself.
