Doctors in the Delaware Valley say the ongoing ‘triple epidemic’ could be the worst they’ve ever seen and could be even more severe as holiday gatherings resume at pre-pandemic levels.

‘tripledemic’ includes triple cases of high flu, covid and RSV in children. Dr. Lauren Carr says there has been a significant uptick in ER visits at St. Christopher’s Hospital.

She’s urging parents to use common-sense tips to avoid hospital visits, like getting everyone vaccinated and fortified and taking over-the-counter medications.

“Just having things like that out there saves a lot of stress, a lot of trouble,” Dr. Carr said. “Keep your medicine in hand, you know, there are a lot of resources that you can review.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is now encouraging people to start wearing masks again, especially when traveling at home for the holidays and staying in large crowds.

“With all these people moving around the city and being reunited with their families, we have to try to be as protective as we can,” said Johnny Martin.
