The appearance of Iran’s supreme leader follows unconfirmed reports that the 83-year-old is ‘gravely ill’.

Tehran, Iran – Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei made his first public appearance on Saturday since he was reported to be in poor health last week.

His appearance comes after several unconfirmed reports that the 83-year-old leader is “gravely ill”.

The New York Times reported on Friday, citing unnamed sources, that Khamenei suffered severe abdominal pain last week and his condition deteriorated, prompting him to undergo surgery for a bowel obstruction.
