Maybe after listening to her music and watching her performances, you’ll enjoy Janet Jackson’s amazing fashion. And last fashion month gave us a new opportunity to do just that.
The Queen of Pop has given plenty of style boosts and confidence notes throughout her career, but her public appearances have been few and far between in recent years. Fortunately, this seems to be changing. This New York Fashion Week was her first since 2013, marking her memorable return to the fashion world. She clearly made up for lost time.
From New York City, Ms. Jackson sat in the front row with Christian Siriano and was sexually involved with Bang Cafe. She brilliantly mixed a graphic t-shirt with a queen-like tulle dress at the Harlem Fashion Row show, also in NYC.

She later headed to Paris Fashion Week, a special event. At Thom Browne, she struck a pose with a stylish belt around her waist in the menswear-inspired collection. At Louis Vuitton, she literally stunned in a silver puffer jacket.
Throughout her career, Ms. Jackson has never been a style icon. From her first music videos like “Rhythm Nation” for her Identity This summer, she knows how to use clothes to make a lasting impression. When we see her wearing a tailored jacket or accented shoulders, we’re inspired to try new looks. When you do a top-bun waterfall braid, we feel freer with what we do with our hair. When she keys her earrings, we feel the limitlessness of what we can do with our tools.
