Elections are critical to the functioning of our democracy. State and local elections ultimately affect the health of all major residents. As an organization with hundreds of healthcare professionals, Maine providers stand for health care All principals are urged to support and vote for candidates who:
• Support the expansion of MaineCare to all who need access to care.
Supporting paid family and medical leave when families grow older, get sick, or face unplanned emergencies.
• Supporting the autonomy of individuals to make reproductive health choices for themselves, including abortion and LGBTQ+ appropriate care.
• Respect and support the gender identity of individuals.
• Advocate for programs to effectively reduce the harms of alcohol and drug addiction.
• Work to eliminate disparities in health care access and health outcomes for Indigenous, immigrant, and communities of color.
We all deserve access to health care so that we can live safe, fulfilling and productive lives.
Choice has consequences. This is how we protect our democracy. Please vote like our lives depend on it – you do.
Maine Providers for Health Care is a nonpartisan, multidisciplinary advocacy group of more than 250 health care professionals focused on the health of our community.
