Highlights

• 191 were injured and 32 died due to armed conflict in Tripoli. The MOH stated that 5 health facilities in Tripoli were attacked and two ambulances were damaged. No deaths or serious injuries were reported and the damage was only material (minor damage to infrastructure). On August 26-27, the conflict erupted in Tripoli, attacking 5 institutions and 2 ambulances. Attacks on health care are reported and situation reports are distributed. A crisis management team has also been established. An OCHA interim meeting was also held to activate the Tripoli Inter-Sector Contingency Plan.

• In response to the tragic Bent Baya fire on August 1, tragically 70 cases of burns and 16 deaths were reported. Health partners in Libya supported national health counterparts by deploying 6 emergency medical teams to care for hospital overflows and medical supplies to hospitals receiving cases in Benghazi, Sabah and Tripoli.
