Parsippany, NJ, Oct. 06, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Lincoln Educational Services Corporation (NASDAQ: LINC )The head of state, who has undergone specialized technical training for over 75 years, recently celebrated his 20th birthday.Th A graduate class from the Husman Tech X Center on Lincoln Tech’s Grand Prairie, TX campus. Lincoln is in its fourth year of partnering with Husman, a global supplier of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, to help the company build its field technician workforce. The industry as a whole is projecting 385,000 job openings nationwide by 2030*. Since opening the Hussmann TechX training facility in 2018, Lincoln Tech has helped Hussmann hire more than 200 new technicians across the country.
“My career at Husman changed my life,” said 2019 TechX graduate Matt Dube. Dube began his training at Lincoln Tech’s East Windsor, CT campus and now works for Husman as a biolife lead technician. “I can’t thank Lincoln Tech and Texx enough. I have spent many hours developing myself professionally, and with their support it has really paid off.
“It’s been an exciting time helping one of the industry’s top employers build their workforce and creating successful careers for dozens of our graduates,” said Lincoln Tech President and CEO Scott Shaw. “We were honored to be selected by Husman to host the TechX Institute in 2018, and all parties have been enjoying the fruits of this partnership since day one.”
The most recent graduating class from the TechX facility was Class 20.Th Team to complete their training and move on to Husman profession. Supermarkets, restaurants and pharmacies all rely on Hussmann equipment to keep products, medicines and other perishables cool. So are blood plasma centers, as Dube discovered early in his new career.
“The FDA mandates that plasma must always be stored at or below 38 degrees Celsius, otherwise it cannot be used,” he said. “So I spend a good part of my workday in coolers below 40. For other customers, I might be on tar roofs in air-conditioned rooms in the Texas sun. The variety of the job makes it fun.”
Dube recently completed three years in the field and has spent the past nine months as a BioLife Lead Technician at Husman’s North Texas branch. BioLife Plasma Services operates eight plasma centers around the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and credits 98% of their service calls with consultations. “I’m very proud of that,” he said. “In addition to technical skills, effective communication skills are a must. BioLife technicians all communicate through me – sometimes there can be as much as $2 million worth of plasma at one site, and we have to make sure no information is lost or overlooked between our team members.”
Lincoln partnered with Husman in 2018, the centerpiece of which was the TechX training facility in Grand Prairie. At the time, Fred Gentry – Heisman’s head of technician development – described the partnership’s possibilities as “endless”.
“As we begin to fill our biggest need — bringing young technicians into the field — we’re also looking forward to educating our existing techs and doing more advanced training,” Gentry said. “The possibilities here are literally endless.”
Graduates from Lincoln Tech’s HVAC program at campuses across the country can apply for admission to the TechX training program. Apprentices accepted into the program will not incur any additional costs for additional training. Husman pays tuition and fees as well as moving expenses and provides a path to employment after graduation. Dube says he jumped at the chance for higher training when he learned of Husman’s opportunity.
“It was great going through,” he said. “Husman offers guaranteed employment for up to five years if you don’t come through Tech X.” It means an opportunity to earn more money quickly. If your goal is a financially rewarding career, you can be very successful.
The Connecticut transplant says he was able to buy a house on a Texas lake through his Lincoln Tech training and Husman career, and his determination to learn as fast as possible. His career was starting at an age when many four-year college graduates were still saddled with debt and grueling job searches.
“Texas is an amazing opportunity,” he says. “I love this business and take new Tech X classes by visiting some of the supermarkets we serve: Costcos, Krogers, Wal-Marts, Sam’s Clubs and more. I want new students to be excited and encouraged by the opportunities they are afforded.
To Dube’s credit and the more than 200 graduates like him, Lincoln Tech’s partnership with Husman has paid off in a life-changing way.
