SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The Center for Excellence at LSU Health Shreveport (CEVT) is now offering the long-awaited bivalent booster vaccine..

LSU Health is inviting the public to discover the new vaccines and incentives. A dual covid vaccine and booster is FDA approved. This includes the initial phase of the COVID-19, a class of mRNA that is common among micron variants, and which broadly protects against the virus.

According to LSU Health, the bivalent booster is the best defense against severe disease from Covid-19.

How to get your vaccination incentive:

Where: LSUHS North Campus Site (formerly Chevyland) 2627 Linwood Ave., Shreveport

When: Saturday September 17 and Sunday September 18 from 10am to 4pm

Bivalent booster vaccines for Covid-19:

  • Pfizer Bivalent Enhancer: Available to people aged 12+ and at least 2 months from their second primary vaccination or any booster dose.
  • Modern bivalent catalysts: Available to people over 18 and at least 2 months from their second primary vaccination or any additional dose.

The vaccinations are being given at the walk-in clinic. There are no appointments for vaccinations.

Individuals who received the first and second doses of the vaccine from locations other than LSUHS must pre-register for a booster dose appointment. www.lsuhs.edu/covid19/vaccine.

All persons must provide identification and insurance information upon arrival at any LSUHS vaccine distribution site. Those without insurance are still eligible to receive the vaccine.
