The “Scarface” actress wore a simple crisp white button-down in a high-waisted black maxi dress that featured a small slit in the front. On top, Pfeiffer wore an oversized black jumpsuit, and carried a shiny black leather shoulder bag.

For shoes, the Golden Globe Award winner opted for a fall staple, turning to black patent leather over-the-knee boots with pointed toes and a three- to four-inch heel. Chunky heels gave Pfeiffer a few extra inches, while a shiny all-black silhouette finished off her look.

Over-the-knee boots, popular in the 60’s go-go era, leave the wearer’s knees exposed but cover the calves. Often worn with skirts, the style is a great choice for both fall and winter, protecting the legs from the elements and allowing the wearer to show off some leg.

During their Fashion Powers talk, Pfeiffer and McCartney discussed the obstacles to challenging the status quo of luxury beauty, acknowledging advances in everything from breakthrough ingredients to game-changing biotechnology advances. Not to mention, consumers are more educated and socially conscious than ever before. “People are smarter, people are more educated, people are choosing with their wallets,” Pfeiffer said. “When the big companies see that there is consumer demand and profitability, that’s when they see the needle move.”
