Wetumpka, Ala. (WSFA) – A California-based company recently opened its new home in Wetumpka.

Bella+Canvas announced that they will move into the old Russell Brands building in the spring, bringing 557 new jobs to the Elmore County area.

“It was a home run for us,” said Carrie Cox, executive director of the Elmore County Economic Development Authority.

Cox added that those jobs bring more opportunities for people to work closer to home and spend their dollars locally, creating more businesses in the area.

“We have one small company that supports Bella+ Canvas and another that wants to support it,” Cox said.

The company has employed more than 180 people since the warehouse opened.

Cox estimates total annual payroll at $10 million, but once the company is fully staffed, “they’re looking at $25 to $30 million in payroll, which will change in the community.”

Openings for Bella+ Canvas are available here.
