Virginia Tech pulled off a shocking 20-17 upset over in-state program Old Dominion University on Friday night.
New Hokies head coach Brent Pry will certainly have a tough job rebuilding a depleted program. Nothing went right for the Hokies Friday night. The second half was delayed because Virginia Tech coaches were stuck in the elevator.
Then the Hokies started losing. Quarterback Grant Wells threw 4 interceptions and the Hokies lost another loss on a total of 5 turnovers.
No matter which team plays, teams won’t win more games with 5 turnovers.
After the game, ODU fans ran onto the field after taking down the Giants, and one ODU fan paid the price by running into the path of a Virginia Tech player.

David Tell of the Richmond Times identified the player as Connor Blumrick.

This is the main reason fans are usually not allowed to run onto the field. There is a greater risk of injury from players, coaches and fans after a game.
