Alexandria, Va. – Emily M. Dickens, SHRM’s (Society for Human Resource Management) Head of Government Affairs and CEO’s speech at the UN General Assembly Global City Hall today, “A Business Agenda for Action: A People-Centric Approach.”

Speaking on behalf of SHRM’s 300,000 members in 165 countries, Dickens focused on the priorities outlined in the United Nations report, “Our Common Agenda,” which calls for global workforce recovery in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. .

According to Dickens, organizations should focus on creating cultures that give everyone the best chance, so no one is left behind in future crises. SHRM partnered with the International Organization of Employers (ILO) and the United States Chamber of International Business (USCIB) to participate in the recent United Nations High Political Forum on the Critical Role of Business in the Multilateral System, Human Resource Development.
