The LMH Health Community Health Fair returns this fall! We hope you will join us on Saturday, September 17th from 7:30 – 10 am at 325 Main. LMH Health Lab offers a complete blood work profile from 7:30 – 10 am for $30 ($40 for PSA). Be sure to register by September 9 lmh.org/health-fair Before the price was increased by $20. According to the American Heart Association, there are not many clear symptoms for people with pre-diabetes, high cholesterol or high blood pressure. By completing comprehensive lab work, you can learn more about your health and make changes to your well-being.
Additional screenings provided by LMH Health and community partners are available at LMH Health’s main and junior levels and include blood pressure screenings, hearing screenings, vision screenings, blood sugar, skin cancer, bone density and stroke risk assessments. These are free filters and no advanced registration is required. Flu shots are primarily available from the Visiting Nurse Association. A higher dose of the vaccine, especially for those over 65, is available. This vaccine costs $65 and can be billed for Medicare. The standard dose vaccine is not billable to insurance and is $30, payable on the day of the event in cash or to the VNA.
In addition to health screenings, many LMH health providers and community partners will be exhibiting at the health fair. These exhibitions give you the opportunity to find information, interact and ask questions on various health topics. More than 20 local health agency exhibitors will be on hand to stop by and ask your health-related questions. Tara Avena, a registered nurse at LMH Health, encourages everyone to attend the health fair.
“Attending the LMH Health Fair gives you a one-time opportunity for free health screenings, low-cost blood work, flu shots and education about health issues that affect us all,” she said.
LMH Health will provide light meals to Health Fair participants. There will be a chance to win door prizes such as free health coaching sessions, exercise bands, gift baskets and more.
