Last Monday the Chautauqua Lake varsity volleyball team traveled to Rochester to compete against 11 other schools in the Gary Adler Memorial Tournament at Gate Chili High School. The Thunderbirds finished first in their pool with Greece-Athens, Spencerport and Rush-Henrietta. They trailed Churchville 11-20 in the Gold Bracket semifinals, but came back to win 29-27. They beat Hilton 25-17 in the final. It was the second year Chautauqua Lake won the tournament.

On Friday, the Lake Chattauqua JV Volleyball team hosted its summer showcase tournament. After finishing first in their pool, the Thunderbirds defeated Jamestown 25-16, 25-10 in the semifinals and Gowanwan 25-19, 25-21 in the final. Karagan Fairbanks was named to the All-Tournament Team and Nolianna Paddock was named Tournament MVP.
