CNN host Don Lemon’s fashion choices angered Tucker Carlson on Friday evening — the Fox News host likened Lemon’s style to self-harm.
Carlson tapped longtime Republican operative and self-described fashionista Roger Stone to help drive home his weird fashion frenzy about lemons.
“The other day he showed up to work dressed as John Fetterman. The Fox News host was dressed as a homeless jerk, Cody, when he opened the episode saying that Lemon’s outfit should be a “cry for help.”
Carlson welcomed Stone, who has a history of publishing the best and worst dressed every year, to comment on Lemonade’s wardrobe.
“I put together an international best and best-dressed list,” Stone said. The talkative CNN host has now announced that he should prepare to find himself on Stone’s “worst” dressed list.
“You’re right. Unless you’re running for the United States Senate in Pennsylvania, that’s a mistake on all counts.
Stone then floated the theory that Lemon- recently is angling for a starring role in the remake of The Man in a White Blazer and White T-Shirt.
But then Carlson had to make a move.
“There’s bad taste, but if you stay in the industry, you’re going to hurt yourself, and that’s where he’s at. He’s hurting himself,” the Fox News host said before comparing Lemon’s fashion decisions to “cutting” himself. (A CNN spokeswoman did not immediately return The Daily Beast’s request for comment Friday evening.)
Stone responded by calling the world of high fashion a “slippery slope” before taking issue with another Lemon outfit missing a “standard bootie”.
“Unless you’re in Bermuda, no one wears shorts and a jacket. So it’s either a new constituency or a senatorial rant,” Stone added.
Stone has long billed himself as a fashion expert, but critics argue he has no idea what he’s talking about.
Men’s fashion editor Derek Guy — who occasionally appears in The Washington Post and writes for a fashion blog — is far from impressed by Stone’s fashion choices over the years. One person joked that it “looks like a stone pocket square.”Hotel napkinsOne of the shirt collarsgiving birth to the tie” and the dirty trickster “found guilty of a turn but must be innocent.
Guy once summed up his thoughts on Stone’s self-professed fashion sense.
“Roger Stone’s outfit comes off as a stripper. He says he likes classic menswear, but his actual style is embellished with the most outrageous elements.” Guy He wrote. “Cut-out collars, flared pocket squares, lapel chains, Goji glasses, etc.
