London, UK – Verizon Business and Visible, a leading health technology company based in the UK, today announced that Visible’s patents are expanding their partnership, enabling both companies to work on Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband and related healthcare solutions. 5G Edge Network, in the US

Verizon and Visionable are working together on a secure next-generation digital healthcare collaboration platform that enables healthcare professionals to access information, collaborate and share resources across the APAC and EMEA regions. The partnership seeks to address some of the health care challenges, including connecting emergency responders to specialist doctors and providing community-led care for patients who need long-term support.

“The healthcare industry generates massive amounts of data, but its ability to effectively use that data has long been hampered by network architectures that cannot handle it efficiently, securely and cost-effectively. With 5G and edge computing, healthcare facilities and professionals are creating a new connection between doctor and patient. “They can achieve close communication in real time. As a result, one day diseases can be diagnosed and treated faster, and medical costs can be reduced,” said Scott Lawrence, senior vice president of Verizon Global Solutions.

Today’s announcement follows the launch of Visionable’s private 5G-enabled connected healthcare hub in the UK in May. The center showcases the benefits of next-generation connectivity and collaboration across the patient care journey, from urgent and emergency care to virtual wards to in-person care and rehabilitation.

“Our partnership provides real-time connectivity and productivity, when and where it counts and costs. Together with Verizon, we strive to support our healthcare teams by enabling them to bring health care to the patient wherever they are,” said Alan Lowe, CEO and co-founder of Visible.

This engagement is part of Verizon’s ongoing strategy to explore how 5G will disrupt and transform all industries with customers, startups, universities and large enterprises. This includes Verizon’s partnership with Emory Healthcare, a strategic partner in Atlanta, to promote Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband-powered healthcare solutions.

Today’s announcement builds on the company’s network-as-a-service foundation and supports its growing portfolio of private networks, mobile edge computing and business solutions.
