Cash prizes for veteran owners

San Francisco, October 11, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — VetsinTech, a leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans through technology-based programs and educational, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, has announced the top finalists in its 2022 Startup Pitch Competition. The event was hosted by VetsinTech and JPMorgan Chase, Oracle Netsuite and AWS Startups. Five veteran, military and spouse startups named will advance to the final round of a tech startup pitch competition. Winners in the last phase will be among five new companies in a Live, virtual pitch competition on October 13, 2022.

The five veteran, military, and proprietary startups that are advancing are:

  • Grape health
    Grapefruit Health is addressing a widespread workforce shortage in healthcare by creating the first and only workforce of clinical students working remotely on behalf of healthcare organizations.

    Parlay is a financial education SaaS that creates alternative credit decision data to help mission-driven lenders quickly write loan applications for underrepresented borrowers.

    It is a secure multilingual messaging platform that creates access to opportunities by encouraging native speakers to communicate in the language they know best.

    Zimba develops automated core banking software for financial institutions in emerging markets, so they can be more efficient in helping people and businesses.

To be eligible to compete in the Vetsin Tech Startup Pitch Competition, each business must be an early-stage startup founded by veterans or military spouses and effectively offer new products or services that fill a significant gap in the market. Companies’ diversity, equity and inclusion and social impact efforts are also considered. Cash prizes are awarded to the top winners as follows:

  • 1st place award; 25,000 dollars

  • 2nd place award; 10,000 dollars

  • 3rd Place Award; 5,000 dollars
