The Berks Alliance for Community Development will host a community forum, “The Growth Impact of Distribution Centers,” starting at 11:30 a.m. via Zoom. It has emerged as a warehousing and distribution center because of its accessibility to population centers with cheap land in the county. Moira Conway, assistant professor of geography at Kutztown University, and Alison Conway, associate professor of civil engineering at the City College of New York, used a geographic map to analyze warehouse construction in Berks County. This Lunch and Learn explores how this trend is affecting traditional manufacturing processes such as CNC, Sheet Metal and Metal Fabrication. Berks LaunchBox “Step-by-step website building 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Berks LaunchBox at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington St., Suite 105, Reading. This hands-on, hands-on, class uses the free tool – Google Sites – to start building a website for beginners. Each core skill of building a Google Sites website is shown on the proposed screen and gives you time to practice many skills on the dummy site you create.
