We love this. SM.
Peter Doe debuted his spring 2023 collection on Tuesday at New York Fashion Week. It includes 60 expertly tailored looks, including menswear for the first time (“We dress people, not just women or men,” the designer said in a release).
But all eyes were on one of those guys in particular when the lights dimmed: K-Pop star Jeno, who opened the show.
The New York-based designer announced a collaboration with SM Entertainment, which represents Jeno and his band NCT, on Instagram last week, much to the delight of K-pop and fashion fans alike. He has worked with SM, which represents several huge K-pop acts, on his invitations as well as on his own show.
Dressed in a backless dress with leggings and heels, she shared a “very special” moment with Doe on the show on Instagram, garnering more than a million likes. For his part, Doe called Geno a “natural choice” to open the show.
“Geno embodies the Peter Doe persona,” he said in the release. “A multifaceted, self-reliance and tracking system. I have so much respect for these artists because there are so many moments in their craft that people simply don’t see. Few realize the intensity of what goes on behind the scenes to achieve the final product. It’s very similar to fashion, so I identify with that process a lot.
“We are proud to partner with a leading global player in K-pop to help us write the fashion of the future,” he said.
