[Brookfield, WI] – Tony Evers is touring the state, pretending to show little concern, stopping at small businesses and handing out more campaign cash.
“If Tony Evers cared about the safety of small businesses, he wouldn’t have locked them out for so long or forced them to continually need masks and hurt their bottom lines. It forced many to close their doors,” said Mark Jefferson, executive director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin.
Calling small businesses “unnecessary,” he effectively delivered the kiss of death that saw many close their doors for good.
Tony Evers doesn’t care much for small businesses, he’s tried to raise taxes on manufacturers and even put small businesses on federal covid loans. After devastating restaurants with his Covid policies, he was forced to sign a bill that would throw them a lifeline, too late for some.
“The campaign’s backsliding over the past few months shows the campaign’s continued desperation to try to appease the small businesses it hurt,” Jefferson said.
