LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech head coach Mark Adams has announced the promotion of Taylor Sinclair to the role of Director of Basketball Operations. The first female Director of Operations in Red Raider men’s basketball history, the 2022-23 season will be her eighth overall within the program.

“I love the fast-paced environment this profession brings,” Sinclair said. “It’s definitely not monotonous and I enjoy that. I love the people I get to work with. My goal every day is to make the lives of the student-athletes and coaches as easy as possible.”

Sinclair worked the past two seasons as the Assistant Director of Sports Operations following five years as an administrative assistant while pursuing her bachelors and master’s degrees. As the Director of Basketball Operations, she helps coordinate daily tasks, game day operations, team travel, recruiting travel, official visits, compliance, and camps. She has been an important part of five NCAA Tournament teams, including the runs to the 2018 Elite 8, 2019 National Championship final and 2022 Sweet 16.

“Taylor has proven to be invaluable to our program throughout the years,” Adams said. “Her organization and work ethic helps me, the entire coaching staff and our players every day. Taylor brings a positive attitude that radiates throughout the office and her organization behind the scenes keeps us going. I’m confident that she will thrive in this position and continue keeping our program running as smoothly as possible.”

Adams has also announced Cooper Anderson into the role of Coordinator of Basketball Operations from his graduate assistant position the past two seasons and title changes for Matt Scherbenske (Director of Recruiting), George Neilson (Director of Scouting) and Darryl Dora (Director of Player Personnel). Anderson has been a graduate assistant the past two seasons after working as a student manager.

A Lubbock native, Sinclair graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Tech in 2018 before earning her master’s degree in Sport Management. Sinclair began with the men’s basketball program as a student assistant under head coach Tubby Smith before working her way up to her current position.

Adams is entering his second season as the program’s head coach after leading the Red Raiders to a 27-10 overall record last season, including advancing to the Big 12 Championship Final and the NCAA Sweet 16. The 2022-23 staff is made up of Corey Williams (assistant coach), Al Pinkins (assistant coach), Steve Green (assistant coach), Rick Cooper (chief of staff), Cooper Anderson (coordinator of basketball operations), Sean Sutton (advisor), Darryl Dora (director of player personnel), Matt Scherbenske (director of recruiting), George Neilson (director of scouting), Darby Rich (head strength & conditioning coach), John Bloom (assistant strength & conditioning coach), Mike Neal (athletic trainer), Luke Adams (director of player development), Collin Prentiss (equipment), Briana Whitaker (executive associate) and Jamal Scott (academics).
