Mayo Clinic Health System celebrates 30 years

Mayo Clinic Health System is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
Mayo Clinic Health System was founded in 1992 with a vision to provide great care locally, with seamless access to Mayo Clinic in Rochester for more complex health needs. Over three decades, the health system has expanded to include 16 hospitals and 53 multi-specialty clinics at 44 physical locations in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The health system currently offers a growing number of virtual care options, as well as a mobile health clinic that brings quality health care to patients in rural communities.

Our model of care is built on Mayo Clinic’s desire to bring personalized excellence to care in the communities we serve,” said Pratibha Varkey Varkey, president of Mayo Clinic Health System. “We started with one small site in Decorah, Iowa, and today our integrated system serves more than 600,000 patients in primary, specialty, surgical, emergency and hospital care.”
Areas across the Midwest will celebrate Mayo Clinic Health System’s 30th anniversary in October with Mayo Clinic Heritage Days. This annual week-long event celebrates Mayo’s rich history and culture. To recognize 30 years of community care through dedicated employees, Mayo Clinic Health System gives back to the communities it serves by partnering with local organizations to sponsor food drives or collect other items in need.
