MELBOURNE, Florida – Florida Tech earns top honors as one of the top schools in Florida, according to US News & World Report’s 2023 Best Colleges.
The Florida Institute of Technology is a private research university in Melbourne, Florida.
The university includes four academic colleges: Engineering and Science, Aeronautics, Psychology, and Liberal Arts and Business.

The magazine looked at 1,500 undergraduate institutions, including 17 measures of academic quality, retention and graduation rates, peer evaluation surveys, class sizes and faculty compensation.
The report ranked 443 national universities; For the 13th consecutive year, Florida Tech was part of that list, coming in at No. 202.

In the Sunshine State, Florida Tech is ranked number two out of nine private universities in the state.
Overall, Florida Tech is ranked number eight out of 79 Florida-based colleges and universities ranked by the magazine.

According to the report, in the Best Value Schools category, Florida Tech ranked fourth out of 10 Florida schools, ahead of the University of Miami, University of Central Florida and others.
Florida Tech is included on several unpublished lists that highlight the university’s key strengths: campus ethnic diversity, economic diversity, high four-year graduation rates, and the largest class size of fewer than 20 students.
