This Spring/Summer 2023 Milan Fashion Week audience was treated to some of the season’s most memorable hits. In the past year, trendsetters have turned to comfortable shoes, with the clog and mules aesthetic taking over a portion of the market. With the recent surge in trends led by Crocs and YEEZY Foam Runners, showgoers are choosing easy-to-wear sneakers to dress up their outfits.

When Hypebeast was on the floor at Milan Fashion Week, the most visible footwear shift was from sneakers and loafers to mules. One attendee wore mules that looked similar to the recent MMW. Nike Zoom 005 slides, while another wears a slip made of flames. His adidas Yeezy Foam Runner in Onyx seems to be the go-to for those on their feet all day, so his popularity in the sneaker world is growing. The beauty of the event was that the weather forecast was excellent this season, which saw a few downpours that interrupted the performances. Not only did showgoers have to be stylish, they also had to be weather-friendly. With that in mind, the chunky, plastic clogs from FW21 or perhaps the understated Bottega Veneta Puddle Boots have become staples for functionality and style.

Nike sneakers continue to rock and prove that classic silhouettes never go out of style. Spectators wore Nike Dunk Lows and iterations of the off-white shoes. Trends follow with NYFW SS23 as the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Foamposite One and Nike Air Max Sunder SP and Balenciaga shoes continue to have big time as comfortable options, especially the Defender.

Check out some of the biggest shoe trends for this year’s MFW SS23 street style and check out the best street style here.
