Red Raiders debate at Inverness Collegiate

Toledo, Ohio – Battling inclement weather, multiple weather delays and incomplete results, the Texas Tech Red Raiders host the University of Toledo at Inverness Golf Club after one round plus of the 2022 Inverness Collegiate and sit in sole second place overall at +4.

Play was suspended several times on Monday, including an hour-long delay halfway through two innings. Finally, Tech’s five players played between 34 and 36 holes the day before play was suspended at 7:10 p.m. (local time).

Based on the results, three Red Raiders are ranked in the top-15 in the field, including the sophomore. Callum Scott. Scott used a pair of eagles on the first nine to shoot an opening-round 68 (-3).

Georgia Tech ranks first overall at +2, followed by the Red Raiders (+4), Oklahoma (+6), Ohio State (+11) and East Tennessee State (+13).

Georgia Tech’s Christo Lamprecht sits at -9 overall and leads Ohio State’s Maxwell Moldovan by four shots (-5). Scott is at -4 overall, just five strokes behind Lamprecht in an impressive individual ranking.

Next:

Course officials will test Tuesday as the second round resumes at 7:45 a.m. (CT). The third and final round begins shortly after round two ends.
