Acne Studios takes this stereotype and turns it on its head, as the suits drape and wrap around the body in natural, often soft neutral or pastel colors, and the outerwear takes things to the next level with faux fur and dramatic silhouettes. Recently, the brand upped the ante with star quality, with its Fall/Winter 2022 menswear drop featuring disco fever highlights.
For Spring/Summer 2023, Acne Studios took to Paris Fashion Week with a delicate collection that seemed to be projected from another universe. Comfy mattresses enhanced with silk sheets and pillows set a soft backdrop in the brand’s signature pink, with feather rugs and boxed pedestals holding up subtle candles. Ethereal Nordic folk tunes filled the air with an otherworldly strain as SS23 Antiques kicked off.
The runway was a gathering place for pristine lace, restless leather and grunge embellishments. Crumpled silk tops graced the stage and they wore mismatched pieces with pale yellow chiffon dresses. Semi-sheer lace mini-skirts adorned with modest ribbons and love heart logos gave a glimpse of what lay beneath. Short-sleeved statement pieces were paired with split leather bottoms with mismatched metallic spikes, embellished distressed trench coats, geometric handbags and wedge sandals.
Soft pink wrap tanks and cropped sweaters sat atop shiny satin pants, creating a clashing attitude that you can’t miss. The maxi dresses are protected by many vibrant flowers that bloom at every level and showcase the feminine figure. On the other hand, some clothes are overflowing on the shoulders, while others have broken pipes with love roses in pink.
