Savvy marketers know they’re in trouble if they don’t innovate. Fortunately for all of us, there is a great opportunity for local producers to learn about the future of the industry without leaving home. Retool ’22 is a climate tech manufacturing conference taking place October 17-29 in Jamestown. This extraordinary conference brings together those who are creating and changing the way products at the cutting edge of technology are made, sold and financed.

Keynote speakers for Retool ’22 are: John Ellis, former Ford Global Technologist; and Clint Wilder, Editorial Director of Clean Edge, a leading clean technology research and consulting firm. Additional featured speakers include Dennis Elsenbeck, Head of Energy and Sustainability from Phillips Lytle LLP; Marnie Lavigne, President and CEO of LAUNCH NY; Paul Tino, Associate Vice President of NOCO Energy; and John Williams, vice president of policy and regulatory affairs with NYSERDA.

This conference is a great way to meet educational leaders, learn about market opportunities in the climate technology sector, meet innovators in the climate technology supply chain, hear from entrepreneurs and investors, and learn how to grow new businesses in Western New York. See examples of electric vehicles and equipment and talk to industry experts as they design new programs to meet the needs of manufacturers.

Additional networking opportunities are built into the program at the Robert H. Jackson Center, the Roger Torrey Peterson Institute, and the Chauqua Harbor Hotel, where key conference sessions will be held at the Northwest Arena in downtown Jamestown. Vendor table spaces are also available where local and regional businesses and organizations can showcase what they have to offer to current and prospective businesses.

We strongly encourage local traders and producers to register and participate. The panel discussions, breakout sessions and networking will have much to offer everyone, including a focus on financial resources, entrepreneurship assistance, advice on growing your business and an electric vehicle demonstration open to the public.

If you have people who want to repackage, scale, grow, develop products or services for your business, or volunteer to be in the classroom with experts around climate technology manufacturing, you can learn more or sign up at www. .jamestownbpu.com/350/business-development. This event is being hosted by the Jamestown Public Utilities Board and you can learn more by contacting BPU Business Development Coordinator Ellen DeTonton. Events like this don’t often take place here in one’s own backyard. Chautauqua County businesses have a lot to gain by attending this wonderful convention.

Join the Chamber of Commerce for two events after hours

In addition to the highly successful Business After Hours event at Bemus Point Golf Club & Tap House, the Chauqua County Chamber of Commerce has two more networking opportunities this fall. The next one will be held at Brix Winery on Portland’s West Main Street on Oct. 27, followed by the perennially popular South Tier Brewing Company in Lockwood on Nov. 8.

Networking is critical for business people, regardless of their career. As you get to know others on a personal and professional level, you can increase sales opportunities and increase your supply chain, workforce and more. The Chamber of Commerce helps highlight local businesses in the area through after-hours events. These individuals can be very valuable to every business when they are comfortable interacting with others.

Chamber Business After Hours events are purposely held at various locations across the county and are designed for business people to drop in after their work day from 5-6:30 p.m., meet some people and grab a quick drink and snack before heading to dinner or dinner. later home. Chamber member businesses can send up to two people at no charge, and non-members or anyone over the first two pay just $10 per person. Admission includes appetizers, a cash bar, a chance at door prizes when you bring in your business card, and great opportunities to network with other local merchants.

After Hours Work at 21 Brix is supported by 21 Brix Winery, Brooks-TLC Hospital System, DFT Communications, Media One Radio Group, National Grid, OBSERVER and The Post-Journal.

After-hours operations at South Tier Brewing are supported by South Tier Brewing Company, Brooks-TLC Hospital System, DFT Communications, LaBella Associates, Media One Radio Group, National Grid, Observer and Post-Journal. Due to limited Southern Tier Brewing space, there will be a discontinuity for this event. We recommend that you register early.

Learn more or register for one or both online at the Chamber website at www.chautauquachamber.org.
