From humble roots to blossoming success, Rich Wash Dat has served the New Orleans area for years, providing high-quality service with top-notch staff. Family owned and operated, each Rich Wash Dat location is committed to employing people of all ages, colors and beliefs. It also provides free washrooms for police and first responders in an environmentally friendly way. A simple idea to help families and locals keep their cars clean was all it took to create the brand we know and love today.
The first car wash opened in Westwego in 2008, giving the community an opportunity to get their cars cleaned at an affordable price. Washwego at Westwego is the first in the area to add technologically advanced methods to ensure a quick and fun alternative to the traditional car wash, ensuring high quality. In an effort to grow the growing facility, WashWego partnered with the Richardson family to create Rich Wash.
The first Rich Wash Dat opened in late 2014 at 4417 Earhart Blvd. At the time, the biggest delivery run in the New Orleans area was a fast car wash. With the goal of serving the greater metro area, eyes are set on Kenner, offering high-quality laundry with a 2017 opening at 3519 Williams Blvd. Deeply committed to Westbank, Riches looked to Algiers to expand Wash. Dat. Bringing high-paying jobs to an underserved area, the new location opened in 2018 at 3600 General Degaule Dr.
The new location at 2900 Gentilly Blvd, across from Dillard University, opened on May 9 of this year. With a $5.5 million investment in this space, Rich’s Wash Dat has made it the most state-of-the-art wash to date. They created the new flagship location for Rich Wash Dat by taking an abandoned distressed corner and building every detail from scratch.
The Covid-19 pandemic caused each location to close briefly, but that disruption stopped Wash Dat. After implementing customer-friendly safety measures, each of the three locations was ready to reopen and serve the community. The plans for the new place in Gentilly started around the beginning of the epidemic and were stopped later in the next two years, but finally, the moment arrived to officially open in spring ’22; Bringing safety and security to the area, providing quality jobs with special attention to the residents of the area and investing in the community are some of the core values associated with the Wash Dat family.
Many may think that washing their car in a driveway at home is the “green” option, but it isn’t. The average home car wash releases up to 200 gallons of water into the driveway.
By comparison, Rich Wash Dat’s water conservation efforts use only about 35 gallons of water per car. Additionally, all chemicals used in the wash tunnels are biodegradable and soapy water is captured, filtered and tested to ensure it is safe for the environment. This is a commitment to the environment that every community can feel!
At Rich’s Wash Dat, three things are highly valued – people, love and perfection. We practice our services with honesty, integrity and accountability. Our employees are engaged and driven to strive for excellence in everything they do. Quality comes first when it comes to our services and we are addicted to the details.
Wash Dat is committed to serving communities, supporting local organizations and helping New Orleans shine one car at a time. For more information on packages, locations and hours of operation, please visit richswashdat.com. Join the Wash Dat Nation!
