Saint Anthony – After picking up its first Conference America win in a home game against Florida Atlantic on Friday night, UTSA is looking to make it two in a row when it welcomes Louisiana Tech to town. The two teams will face each other on Sunday, October 2nd at noon and will be televised on CUSA.tv.
The Roadrunners (6-8, 1-1) will meet the Lady Texans (7-10, 1-2) in a matchup of two teams trying to record their second conference win of the season.
While the Roadrunners are looking to make it two wins in a row, La Tech is looking to end a two-game skid. Both UTSA and La Tech have a common opponent on the season, as both teams are ranked in the top-25.

Leading the Roadrunners
Four different Roadrunners have appeared in all 54 sets so far for UTSA. Among those four players, leading UTSA’s offense is freshman Cansu Günaydin. The Rutgers transfer averaged a team-high 189.5 points and 171 kills, both of which rank 10th in C-USA. In 14 matches, Gunaidin has 12 aces, second on the team, as well as 118 digs and a total of ten blocks.
Also appearing in all 54 sets is a junior middle blocker. Amanda Ifeanyi He is second on the team with 132.5 points so far. Ifeanyi has 110 kills and a .329 hitting percentage, best on the team. Defensively, Ifeanyi has 23 digs and 39 total blocks, second most on the team.
The other two Roadrunners played in each set were middle blockers. Alicia Coppage And a first-class defensive specialist Ava Camacho. Coppage is third on the team in points (116) and kills (93). Coppedge has been a star on defense as she currently leads the Roadrunners in total blocks 44. As a true freshman, Camacho leads the team in digs with 246 and has eight aces to his name.
Senior editor Courtney Walters Texas native McKinney continues to set the table for her teammates as she has 378 assists. Junior outside killer Kelsey Carpenter As Midlothian is one of five Roadrunners who currently have 100 points on the season, the Texas native has 112 points with 96 kills. Her 2.09 kills per set is third on the team, just behind No. 1. Katelyn Krienke. Krienke collected 105 points with 92 kills in 10 matches.
Lady Techsters Scouting
Louisiana Tech is led offensively by student-athletes with over 100 points, with Andrea Spasojevic (162.5), Ashley Taylor (131.5), Sydney Jacquin (120.5) and Chard VanZandt (103.5) pacing the Lady Texters.
La Tech setter Ashley Jones has totaled 347 assists in 12 matches, averaging 8.26 assists per set. Jones also has 14 aces on the season, the second most in the team.
On the defensive side of the net, McKenzie Johnson leads the Lady Techsters with 200 digs, while Taylor (44) and Morgan Smith (25) lead the team in blocks.
A series of stories
UTSA is 15-2 all-time in meetings with the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters, with the last two meetings between the teams coming last season. In limited travel as the world recovers from Covid, UTSA hosted La Tech for two games in two days, defeating the Lady Techsters 6-1 over the two days. The Roadrunners are 8-0 against La Tech in San Antonio games.
