Rounds powered 70 from Gala Dumez, Shannon Tan And Lauren Zaretskythe Texas Tech women’s golf program finished fifth at the “Mo” Morial Invitational hosted by the Texas A&M Tradition Golf Club with a 283 (-5 overall) in the final round on Wednesday.
Battling the high heat (conditions were in the 90s), the Red Raiders had four of their six players shoot as individuals. Anna Dong He posted a final round 71 to win.
As they were at the Carmel Cup, Tech was led by Dumez, who finished tied for 11th place.
Tech’s second-best finish capped off the strongest week of her young Red Raider career. The Singaporean finished +1 overall.
Zaretsky, the Red Raiders’ final top-20 finish, also shot a final round of 70 to finish at +3 (T-18) overall.
Host Texas A&M overcame a three-shot deficit to win the event at -11 overall. Texas finished four shots back at -7 overall, followed by North Carolina (-4) and Florida (-4).
The Red Raiders finished at +11 overall, four shots behind Houston. Miami (+15), SMU (+19), Kansas (+31) and North Texas (+32) round out the top 10.
UTSA (+39) finished 11th behind Kansas State (+40), Charlotte (+60) and Texas State (+62).

Tech returns to action Oct. 23-24 for the Jim West Challenge hosted by Texas State. The event will be the finale of the fall for the Red Raiders.
