This month’s Business Spotlight honors notable enterprises in Warren, Franklin, Morgan, Cuyahoga, Wayne, Hardin, Ross and Lucas counties.
Throughout its history, Ohio has been home to every business imaginable – entrepreneurial enterprises that put Ohioans to work, grow our economy and make our communities stronger and more prosperous. Over time, these businesses have made our state an enviable economic powerhouse with strength in various industries, services and sectors.
While every successful business has a story of risk-taking, ingenuity and determination, the eight businesses recognized for August are unique in that they have powered Ohio’s economy for more than a century. Whether they were started by entrepreneurs who immigrated to the United States in search of the American dream, or were passed down by family to continue and operate successfully, these eight companies have faced many challenges, growing Ohio’s economic portfolio and improving quality. Life for Ohioans for generations.
“The businesses we’re recognizing this month are household names whose hard work and innovation are the pride of their communities, creating countless jobs and strengthening Ohio’s economic competitiveness in an increasingly global economy.” Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose said. “These businesses are embedded in the economic and civic fabric of the towns and cities where they operate, and as Ohioans, we all continue to call Ohio home and help make Ohio the seventh largest economy in the nation.”
