In the year In 2020, PROP became a CARF-accredited (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) intensive, comprehensive pain rehabilitation outpatient program. The program runs two separate groups simultaneously: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00am to 3:00pm for 6 weeks and Wednesdays from 8:00am to 3:00pm for 12 weeks. From our interdisciplinary team members, including a physician, psychologist, pharmacist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, clinical social worker, and certified holistic health coach, participants receive individualized treatment focused on proactively managing chronic pain conditions. Participants participate in active therapy groups and education groups that include pain science, sleep hygiene, nutrition and weight management, tai chi, yoga, mindfulness, communication group, cognitive resilience, creative expression, movement/walking group, holistic health, self-medication . , headache management and spirituality.

Patients who meet the general guidelines will have an appointment with a pain physician and a pain psychologist for an individualized pain management program intake screening. When the pain physician, pain psychologist, and veteran agree that the PROP program is appropriate and want to proceed, the soldier will be scheduled.

In this program, our focus will be on what you can do and accomplish despite pain. We understand that you are in pain and participating in PROP requires many changes from your normal life and daily routine. We do our best to make your expectations clear and feel free to discuss any concerns with our staff as we are here to help you.

We understand that your chronic illness has changed your life and that you can be helpless and dependent on others at times. It is important for you to remember that we are here to help you help yourself. Our goal is to help you regain your self-esteem and confidence by encouraging you to gradually take responsibility for your recovery. We teach skills and provide support, but we want you to work with us and be committed to improving.

We want you to feel and act as a member of our team, not as a “patient” during this treatment. You are truly the most important member of our team. As a team, we work together to help reduce your pain levels, increase your mobility, and improve your mood. Your time in a pain rehabilitation outpatient program will give you the best chance to restore your health and have a better quality of life.

We offer two ways for you to participate in our program.

  • PROP 6: 6-week program Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m
  • PROP 12: 12-week program Wednesdays 8am-3pm
