After the Aug. 9 primary, Governor Ned Lamont tried to spin Leora Levine’s victory in the Republican primary as …”
In fact, the governor doubled down, saying he supports President Biden and Biden’s policies 100%. Really Ned? As a result of Biden’s lackadaisical leadership and immorality, taxpayers now have to contend with:
- Inflation has not been seen in 40 years – even when measured by the simplest methods today. At current rates of inflation, responsible citizens saving for retirement will have their nest egg purchasing power halved within eight years.
- The collapse of our southern border. A nation that does not obey its immigration laws is not a nation.
- Putin’s war in Ukraine and Thailand’s aggressive military operations in Taiwan’s airspace and waters are a serious disrespect on the world stage.
Instead of chasing revenues through payments; Transportation Climate Initiative; Transport taxes; And with the diesel tax in full swing, what if Lamont showed some leadership and came up with a plan to make Connecticut a better place to expand or locate a business?
Lamont continues to be out of the hands of the federal taxpayer. The only reason to extend the executive orders is to get more federal dollars for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), he boasted. What a great idea – let’s loot the remaining 50 states to further your lack of leadership. The fact that Connecticut’s dubious finances are supported by the rest of the country should embarrass all of us when we talk to friends and family in other states.
Leadership means setting a vision and making tough decisions. What Ned has shown us is that most of us don’t really have a clue how we live and work.
Now is the time to elect a governor who understands leadership. Bob Stifanowski is that man.
