Norfolk, Va. – Tonight’s Old Dominion home football opener against Virginia Tech is sold out.
The Monarchs and Hokies open their season at 7 p.m. at SB Ballard Stadium on ESPNU.
The game marked the first start for Virginia Tech head coach Brent Prine, who was ODU’s defensive coordinator when he was ODU’s head coach at Penn State. Ricky Rahne He was an offensive coordinator.
The tailgate lot opens at 3 pm and gates open at 5 pm, half an hour earlier than usual.
SB Ballard Stadium has a seating capacity of 21,944.
Just south of the stadium across 49th Street, entertainment and food will be available at Kauffman Mall starting at 3:00 p.m.
There will also be a giant screen TV showing the best college football available. At 3:45 p.m., the Finns, a rock/country band from North Carolina, will perform near the entrance to the Webb Student Center.
Starting at 4:45 p.m., the football team, players and coaches left in front of the Webb Center and went to SB Ballard Stadium. The band and cheerleading squad will perform in front of the Webb Center at 6:10 p.m.
