The second series of Policy Options for Strengthening and Transforming Health Systems in the Americas takes place in the context of Case-Based Financing for Development Cooperation, a regional initiative that unites all United Nations entities around a common goal of 2030. Sustainable development agenda. A leading agency specializing in health in the LAC region is part of this consortium.
Objectives
- In the LAC region, to demonstrate the main structural health financing issues that increase LAC’s vulnerability to public health emergencies and hinder the region’s capacity to address inequities and future achievement of the SDGs.
- Highlight country challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, citing lessons learned and good practices related to universal health and the 2030 Agenda.
- Building on key PAHO/WHO recommendations on health financing development financing and health systems-based coalitions to deliver a common agenda for UN-LAC issues.
