WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – While most teenagers get to enjoy a three-day weekend this Labor Day, one Wichita Falls teenager chose not to.

Hayden Saldana started his own business selling sneakers in Wichita Falls, Hayden Kicks, three years ago, all because he wanted good sneakers.

A light bulb went off during covid and he decided to make his dream of owning a sneaker shop come true.

“So, you can’t make any excuses when you want to. You have to get it. You can go around and mow the yard, clean the yard for twenty bucks. Do it consistently, be consistent with what you do. will come Now you have to be motivated and consistent, Saldana said.

After spending time mowing lawns, Hayden was able to earn enough money to start selling sneakers from a truck before renting a shop downtown.

Now, he hopes his story can inspire other teenagers.

After high school, he hopes to own a storefront in downtown Wichita Falls before expanding his business to other states.
