Olympia – The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has announced updated guidance on home testing for COVID-19, including changes to how to report self-test results and additional information about treatment for COVID-19. of Complete guidelines are available on the DOH website.

As part of the policy update, Washingtonians are now required to report all positive home test results to OK! The digital assistant of the covid testAlthough those testing tools say yes! While the hotline will remain in service, the focus is shifting to a Care Connect service that provides additional support for people who have recently tested positive.

While the White House previously announced a pause to a federal program that provided at-home Covid-19 tests, Say Yes! The COVID-19 testing program continues to provide up to 10 free tests each month to first-time Washington families. Say yes! “The widespread availability and use of rapid at-home tests has helped Washingtonians take immediate action to seek treatment for themselves and protect others from subtypes of COVID-19,” said Lacy Fehrenbach, chief of defense, safety and health. “We encourage every family to get tested at home as school starts and fall respiratory virus season approaches. By reporting results through the SYCT digital assistant, Washingtonians can help Public Health understand the burden and trends of infection in Washington State.

Washingtonians who have tested positive for COVID-19 and need isolation assistance such as food, personal care kits or other needs can still contact the WA DOH COVID-19 hotline at 1-800-525-0127. Report a positive test result and ask to speak with Care Connect or go to a care relationship hub. Those who do not require further assistance should continue to report positive cases through the SYCT portal.
